Still living in the old Morton house and loving it.

The studio is going very well and I just love it. I feel retired most days. I am viewing this first year as a learning experience in running a business.

Josh is teaching at Central College and still working at Mercy. We are very busy, but loving life.

Gus is still the most patient and loving creature in all the world. He is getting a little belly and is need of a walk, but this crazy winter is keeping us inside.

Josh and I just celebrated our 11 years together on February 5th. In the comments you can leave a funny story about us together at 15 and 16 if you would like.......it is fun to look back and remember us being so dramatic! ;-)

They are doing very well for a first year team and this being the very first competition of the year. I am so excited and proud. <3

We are having LOST parties with our good friends and family Justin & Candice and Jeff & Melissa. We love LOST. I think it is the lost island of Atlantis......we will find out this is the final chapter.

Today is the millionth snow day for the studio and others in Iowa. I am ready for Spring!

We went to church on Sunday and found it very refreshing. :-D

So, life is busy! I am getting ready to start my year 3 of 2 jobs! WOW! I am a tired girl. It started right when I got off the plane from England....it was a weekend when we got back to the States and then I started Drake and Beth Clarke Dance Studio that following Monday and it really has not stopped. Then I went into being a nanny full-time that was not so fun.....then went into teaching dance M-F every night at Beth Clarke. I love my girls there. I spent last year working at Drake CPHS full-time and commuting up to Ames T,W,TH to teach dance all night. I would get home around 10:45 and start the 8 AM day all over again. Now I am entering into year 3 still working at Drake CPHS full-time and a business owner. Devine Dancers. If I have wrinkels and bags under my eyes it is b/c I am TIRED! ;-) I am really ready for work to stop consuming the better part of my life.

The studio is going amazing. I could not of hoped for a better location or summer group. I am learning as I go. I am excited for the first recital. I hope my budget and ideas can stay in the same spectrum. :-D I want Miss Tessa and Molly to dance in the first recital. They need to be apart of the first recital! So, Josh and Cort before you buy tickets to visit next year call me. hee hee hee :-P

Josh just got a position at Mercy Franklin in the Psychward he is so good at that. He is applying for teaching positions. Say your prayers. He is also trying to write his dissertation. So, the Devine-Woods family is SUPA busy! Josh also helps with the studio. Life is KRazY.

Gus is well. We took him on about an 8 mile walk last weekend. We are running 4 nights a week. Trying to stay in shape. Running just helps that last lil bit. ;-p

I am finishing up my last week of summer dance classes and looking forward to just one job for a while.....we will be finishing construction on the studio and registering students for next year! Classes begin September 8th, 2009.

]]> WOW! It has been crazy in the Devine Woods Fam! I went from having surgery and being out of it for almost 2 weeks to remodeling and creating a dance studio! Oh the work!!!!! I cannot thank the family enough. I could not have accomplished any of this without you!!!! I have combinations choreographed and I am teaching. A wonderful sensation came over me in Pi-Yo last night. It was just amazing to be working on Devine Dancers.

Remember a few years ago when they polled people about various elements of the Bill of Rights? They discovered that a majority of Americans would not support many of our most basic rights if they were put to a vote. My guess is that the same thing would happen if we put many of Jesus' teachings to a vote among Christians. "Love your enemies. Turn the other cheek. Blessed are the poor." Would you vote for such sentiments? Many of us don't in our everyday lives.

There was a pop song back in the golden days of the televangelists that asked the question, "Would Jesus wear a Rolex?"

Where WOULD Jesus position himself today? Where would he stand on gun control? Or foreign aid? Or abortion? You call yourselves his followers, but do you really think he would vote as you would? Or would he be an embarrassment? Or better yet, would we be an embarrassment to him?

May we truly be Biblical people.

Lord Jesus, help me to be bold in following your ways. Amen.

Or would Jesus say:

Mat 7:1-2: "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."

And, two, John 7:24: "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

And three,"And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?" - Matthew 7:3

and four my personally favorite, John 8

1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

In my opinion we spend way to much time sending people running from Jesus with our judgmental opinions. Remember!

God loves your neighbor enough to die for them. You are God's ambassador, representing God to your neighbor, for the purpose of demonstrating His love.

No Drake! This has been the best week I have had in 2 years!!!! Josh is still searching hard for work! So, if you pass this blog and have an opening….give it to him! He is an amazing worker and can do NETHING! This is only temporary and that is what I have learned as I have grown older. Running is going great. I have finished all my dances for recital. Things are looking pretty darn dandy! We are making it like the little engine that could! I am waiting to hear back about a studio offer in West Des Moines. Many doubts have crossed my mind. Sometimes it seems that Ames would be the better location. We shall see. Tonight Josh and I are going to Hawaii. We have some good Jamician music, sunglasses, and drinks. Josh and I have been crazy. I am TRYING SUPER DUPER HARD to start my studio this summer. The economy is not helping us out though. Josh is still searching for a job and trying to write his dissertation. I am working and working and working. Plus I have been having problems with my right tonsil. I would now call it my pet golf ball! So, I am going to the doctor today. They are proly going to give me a shot! Grrrrr! So needless to say. I think I need to go to church and pray more b/c Josh and I have been running low on luck. Hee :-D

Chicago was much needed! Josh and I had a great time together. We went out for drinks, worked out, went to see 2nd City, and slept in! Josh did amazing on his poster presentation. We carved pumpkins at Christina and Michael's it is funny that the Fitch's are in charge of a party where we use sharp objects!

I have been running a lot. It is my new addiction. I was never a runner so this is something new. I am starting to run about 3 miles a night when I do not teach dance.

Dance is going great. I wonder where some of my dance ideas come from. We have a lot of fun in class. Plus, I get to whip them into shape! This week we have a Candy Quiz of Ballet Terms for treats!

I get a vacation to Chicago with Josh November 10th. So excited! :-) We are going on a dinner cruise. To a comedy club....2nd City. We are both excited. Although it is not a beach.....it is a week off of work and with my hubs.

Other than that, a typically day is Drake......I am the communication person! lol ;-P Announcements, Web Site updates, etc.......Then straight up to dance tell 10 PM. Then home to start again!
Mom and I work out Monday and Friday after work and Wednesday at lunch! One day on the weekend mama :-D Take your pick.

So, a vacation is going to be nice! Loves and Misses to all!
